ABOUT ME

'Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.' ~ Mark Twain

These inspiring words are permanently etched into my thinking on how to live my life.

I am Australian born but a creature of the Universe and started my career painting fantasies on interior walls in London.

I am a self-taught artist. My fascination with texture and medium guided me to apprenticeships in Italy & Guernsey and a course in Chinoiserie brush techniques at Beijing University, China. At this time my strongest influence was French Surrealism, a style that led me to question my own perception of reality. In the late 70’s on a visit to San Francisco I found myself strongly drawn to a group of artists based in Sausalito. Rousseau-like, their wildlife fantasias reconnected me with my own inner Universe, and so began my visionary journey into art.

In the early '90s I began painting on canvas and found the influences from my past allowed me to express the colorful surreal imagery of my inner-world. In the new millennium I studied Transpersonal Art Therapy, a platform to further understanding my own art process. My work continues to explore the transformative process of expressive art, drawing on the transpersonal for expanding self-understanding, growth and the full spectrum of consciousness.

Today, my focus is projects supporting animals in nature and ‘vision drawing’.

Vision Drawing is my own intuitive painting process using animals as a medium for ‘Self’-discovery, self-empowerment and a deeper understanding of our true nature.
I’m committed to cruelty free living, and share my life with an old hippie and my beautiful cat Smudge.
